In this section we collected all informations regarding the user interface of Diablo 3, like Health/Mana, skills in the actionbar, minimap and inventory.

After seven long years of waiting time, there are lots of graphical changes to be expected.
The action bar is still strongly oriented on Diablo 2, but some major changes can already be seen.

There are no Healing or Manapotions, instead there are skill icons, which can be used with the number buttons.

The interface looks more slick, which of course is also a result of the higher possible resolution, than the old 800×600 resolution from the older Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 games.

Actionbar:

Commentary:

Green: Well known Lifebar from Diablo 2.

Red: The Mana- or Energybar.

Yellow: The six buttons at the top are used for characterinformation, like for example the inventory.
The actionbar below is used for skills via hotkeys.
On the right side there are pressure keys for mousebuttons.
Using the tabulator, or scrolling with the mousewheel, allows an option to use a secondary attackskill (right mousebutton - the symbol on the right side of the axe).

Magenta: On the fifth space on the actionbar, is a scroll icon located, the sixth space is free, maybe this one is used for potions or more scrolls.
The number below maybe determines the quantity (in this case four) of scrolls available.

Blue: The most important bar in a hack ‘n slay game: the experience bar. If this bar is filled up, the hero gains one characterlevel.

Inventory:

There are also changes in the inventory. There are two new equipment slots for shoulderarmor and trousers.
The character is now also shown 3D in the center of the inventory and allows the player to check the look of new aquired equipment.

Commentary:

Red: Helmet
Blue: Amulet
Yellow: Torsoarmor
Green: Belt
Cyan: Rings
Darkgreen: Shoulderarmor
Magenta: Gloves
Grey: Trousers
Brown: Boots
White: Weaponslots

About the space in the inventory is yet not much information available. The material shown says nothing about how many items a character can carry.
We will inform you as soon new information is available.

Minimap:

The minimap is also different to the first two parts of the Diablo series.
Instead of a transparent minmap that covers the whole screen (although in the options of the Diablo games, you can minimize these map, and choose whether it is shown on the left or right side of the screen), the new minimap is now located on the top right corner.

Commentary:

Magenta: The actual dungeon/level.
Cyan: The minimap in the top right corner. The yellow dot is your current location.
